Stampin' Up!'s First Australian Convention

Stampin' Up Convention, what a great weekend. After all the waiting, all the planning, all the saving it was over far too quickly, but I had a fantastic time. My flight to Sydney, my accommodation at the Goldsborough (thanks Kim for organizing that) , the great new friends made, and the excitement of celebrating the first, exciting year of Stampin' Up! in Australia all added to an awesome weekend.
For me there was the added excitement of being named in the Top 25 demonstrators in Australia. I placed at number 20 and it was a highlight of the trip to me to be presented this honour, which is thanks wholly to my wonderful group of downlines and my great customers who have supported me through the year. Each of the 25 received a Demonstrator of the year pin at registration and during the awards dinner we were announced and walked across stage to receive a rose from Shelly. A nice surprise after the convention was the certificate we received.

One of the other parts of convention I really enjoyed was card swapping. After registering, while we were waiting for the doors for the first session to open, we enjoyed a frantic time of meeting new people and exchanging swaps. I came home with a bag full of wonderful cards and some amazing ideas that I have been sharing with my customers.
What else? In our convention bag, we had two stamp sets, Be Happy and Dreams come true, that we mounted on Friday night, this was a late night group get together after our dinner and walk through China Town. It is very hard to see to trim and mount stamps at 11pm after a full couple of days with not much sleep. But we got to use these sets during the sessions Saturday and I have had fun playing with them since I have come home, and have used both of them in my workshops since.
And for all the fun and excitement of convention, it was good to come home to my family, especially to Sarah for her 8th Birthday. I was a very tired, emotional girl on the flight home but I am soooooo looking forward to attending the 2008 convention here in Brisbane.
Are you interested in joining me in attending????? Contact me about joining my Wonderland Stampers Demo Group.
